Are our brands delivering what people need? What should our messages be to customers in homes and businesses throughout Britain? How can we ensure we continue to do the right thing with so much change impacting the energy sector and the markets we operate in?
These are just some of the questions you could be answering as a commercial marketing graduate.
Over four placements, you’ll learn the ins and outs of how to market products and brands including British Gas, Hive and Local Heroes. Along the way, you’ll be able to build key commercial marketing skills while gaining experience of developing strategies and project plans.
There are various teams you could potentially be joining, including our Commercial, Brand, Product Development, Customer Marketing, Advertising, Sales and Digital Advertising teams. Your responsibilities could range all the way from gathering customer insight to developing material for TV and social media campaigns.
Duration: 2 years and 3 month (1 x 3-month placement, 3 x 8-month placements)
Locations: UK-wide initially then Staines or London
Starting salary: £27,000 plus £3,000 starting bonus
Minimum requirements: 2:1 degree (2:2 if combined with Master’s)
I’ve really enjoy working on wide-reaching marketing activity for one of the UK's biggest brands. It has been fascinating to understand how we plan, deliver and measure the success of our campaigns for British Gas.
